Reining & ranch versatility since 1992
A family ranch in Fort Collins raising and training paint and quarter horses for the reining and ranch versatility pen, with boarding, lessons, and show coaching for riders at every level.
A family lifestyle, carried down three generations on the place in Fort Collins.
Our story
Eclipse Ranch began in 1992, when Scott and Julie Melbye brought home their first AQHA reining stallion as a weanling. That colt started a family lifestyle that has been passed down to their daughter, Paige.
Paige Melbye-Lara has been training professionally since she was fourteen and brings over 25 years of riding, training, and showing to every horse on the place. She has shown with AQHA since 2008, was the 2015 Larimer County Fair and Rodeo Queen, and has been featured on the cover of Group Magazine. Her husband Scott is alongside her for all of it, from conditioning horses to building out the facility.
